STCW Rating Forming Part of a Navigation Watch (RFPNW USCG Approved)

The Rating Forming part of a Navigational Watch certificate is a common requirement for deckhands/Able Seaman (AB) & Ordinary Seaman. The STCW USCG approved course will help you in your path in becoming a deckhand. The course provides you with the knowledge and understanding of the duties and responsibilities of a Rating Forming Part of a Navigational Watch (RFPNW) . The certificate acts as an official record of your experience which can be taken from ship to ship and will earn you a credit of 4 months sea time, counting in satisfying the full requirements.

With this course we highly recommend you take the required STCW Basic Training (2-day blended course) to complete your full Qualification in becoming a deckhand.

Assessment only: Mariners that successfully complete our Rating Forming Part of a Navigational Watch (RFPNW) Assessment that will satisfy the requirements of Navigation and Vessel Inspection Circular No. 06-14.

Does this training give me any formal qualifications?

Yes, you will receive the STCW Deck rating qualification known as the rating forming part of a navigation watch. With this certificate you can be involved in watchkeeping duties in an official capacity.
